Parent & Coach Communication

Building Strong Partnerships for Every Player
Open, respectful, and consistent communication creates the best experience for our players. At Rushcreek FC, we believe parents and coaches share a common goal—to help every child learn, grow, and enjoy the game.
Through mutual respect, clear expectations, and positive communication, we can work together to create an environment where players thrive both on and off the field.

Why Communication Matters

Youth soccer is most successful when coaches and families work together. While coaches are responsible for creating a positive learning environment and guiding player development, parents play an equally important role by encouraging effort, sportsmanship, and a love for the game.

Our goal is to build relationships based on trust, respect, and a shared commitment to the development of every player.

Communication Expectations

Parents Can Expect
  • Respectful and professional communication.
  • Timely updates regarding schedules and events.
  • Coaches who prioritize player development and safety.
  • An environment focused on learning and sportsmanship.
  • Opportunities to ask questions respectfully.
Coaches Can Expect
  • Respectful communication from players and families.
  • Positive sideline behavior.
  • Support for club values and philosophy.
  • Patience throughout the player development process.
  • Collaboration built on trust and mutual respect.

Appropriate Topics

Appropriate to Discuss
  • Player development
  • Injuries or health concerns
  • Schedule conflicts
  • Club policies
  • Player well-being
  • Questions about expectations
Generally Not Appropriate
  • Playing time
  • Team selection immediately after games
  • Comparing players
  • Coaching decisions during or immediately following competition
  • Confrontational discussions in front of players or spectators

Whenever possible, concerns should be discussed respectfully at an appropriate time and place, with the shared goal of supporting the player's development and maintaining a positive environment.

Resolving Concerns

Step 1: Speak directly with your child's coach respectfully and privately.

Step 2: If the concern remains unresolved, contact the appropriate Rushcreek FC Director or Board representative.

Step 3: If necessary, the Board of Directors will review the concern in accordance with club policies and bylaws.

We encourage respectful conversations focused on solutions rather than conflict. Open communication strengthens our club and helps create the best possible experience for every player.

Our Shared Commitment

At Rushcreek FC, we believe every player deserves adults who model respect, integrity, patience, and sportsmanship. By working together, parents and coaches create an environment where young athletes feel supported, challenged, and inspired to reach their full potential.

Our commitment is simple: communicate openly, listen respectfully, and always place the best interests of the player at the center of every conversation.

“The strongest teams are built through trust—not only between players, but between coaches and families.”
